Rio Verde Country Club Chosen as Site for 2013 Arizona Women’s Golf Association Opening Tournament
Rio Verde Country Club’s Quail Run golf course will be the site for the AWGA’s opening tournament on Sunday, February 17. The tournament will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun followed by a luncheon and awards. The format will be Four-Ball Stroke Play, which is often referred to as the Better Ball of Partners. The cost per 2-person team in $200 ($100 per player) and includes cart and lunch.
Players must be members of the AWGA, at least 13 years old, and have a maximum handicap index of 36. The handicaps of members of each 2-person team may not differ by more than 8 strokes. The tournament will be flighted with a maximum of 100 golfers. Prizes will be awarded for overall gross and net champions and gross and net flight winners.

Collegiate Women's Tournament Features 17 Teams From Across the Country
The 2013 Rio Verde Invitational, a 54-hole golf tournament featuring 17 collegiate women’s golf teams from across the country, will be held at Rio Verde Country Club, March 7-10.
Practice rounds will take place on Thursday, Mar. 7, while tournament play will run from Friday, March 8 through Sunday, March 10. Competition will take place on Rio Verde’s White Wing Golf Course, with shotgun starts set for 1 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
This is the 11th edition of the Rio Verde Invitational, and once again will be hosted by Western Michigan University, the host team for all 11 of these tournaments. Please click here
